What is the "Mute" Feature?
The mute feature is an essential tool for creators to maintain order in their live streams. It allows creators to restrict specific users from sending messages, preventing inappropriate behavior from disrupting the experience of other viewers.
When should you use the mute feature?
Creators can use the mute feature in the following situations:
Inappropriate Comments: A user posts offensive, aggressive, or policy-violating content.
Spamming: A user continuously sends repetitive or meaningless messages.
Harassing viewers or the creator: A user targets individuals or groups with harassment or provocative behavior.
How to mute a user?
Click on the user's name (avatar): In the live stream, click on the name or avatar of the user who posted the message, then click the "..." icon on the left.

Select the mute option: Choose "Ban Chat" from the menu.

Choose the duration: Depending on the user's behavior, you can select a specific mute duration (starting from 5 minutes) or mute them permanently.

Once configured, select "Confirm Ban."
Note: Once a user is muted, a notification will pop up if they try to comment, letting them know they are currently muted.
How to unmute a user?
If a user's behavior improves, the creator can lift the mute at any time to restore their commenting privileges.
Option 1: Simply click the user's name and select "Unmute."
Option 2: Open the live stream settings and click "Muted List" to view muted users and their remaining mute durations.
Option 3: You can access the same list by going to the App's Personal Center, tapping the gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner, and selecting "Muted List." Click "Unmute" next to the user's name to restore their commenting privileges.

Important Reminders
The mute feature should be used reasonably to avoid overly restricting the interaction of regular viewers.
Consider establishing live stream rules and pinning them as a top comment once your live stream starts to help viewers avoid accidentally violating community guidelines.
